Clinics & Workshops

Being dedicated to educating horse owners, the Rock'n Star Ranch (in Pritchard/Kamloops BC) hosts a number of educational events each year between May and Nov. The clinicians we host have been hand picked to be sure that the opportunities we offer are creating a consistent experience for those who attend.

Edu- Vacations are limited to 4 riders (except by special request) to ensure maximum individualized attention and there will be a limit of 10-12 riders in the workshops in order to maintain an optimal learning experience for each horse/human partnership.

~ June 14/15/16 - Troubleshooting Horsemanship Challenges with Pinto Miremadi

Bring your biggest challenges and behavioral issues to this horsemanship weekend designed to expose and begin to unravel the root cause of your biggest issues. Learn how to install the tools needed to begin to develop a better, more functional relationship with your horse.

An introduction to cattle and developing the working stockhorse with master horseman and stockman, Miles Kingdon.

~ July 5/6/7 – Intro to Ranch Roping 3 DAY CAMP with Miles Kingdon

Furthering the experience and skills of the working stock horse through working cattle in an arena and/or in traditional rodea (pasture) style with master horse and stockman, Miles Kindon, as well as an introduction to Ranch Roping. All roping with be done using Breakaway ropes for the safety of our riders, our horses and our livestock.

~ July 19/20 - "Beyond the Gates" with Christa Miremdi

Test your skills and take your horsemanship to the next level by riding beyond the gate and riding outside the arena! This workshop will be a review of horsemanship skills, knowledge and tools needed as well as an opportunity to experience riding in the back country around the Rock'n Star Ranch.

Showcasing the fine art of the Canadian Bridled Stock horse through an organized demonstration of skills and traditional stockmanship handling techniques.

Christa Miremadi

Christa Has been working with and riding horses of all kinds for over 30 years. Her experience and skill provides those who ride with her a window into understanding their equine partner better and the guidance and support to develop a stronger, safer and more productive relationship together. Miles Kingdon

Miles has been working as a professional cowboy, for over 40 years. He's been cowboss or manager of some of the greatest cattle ranches in BC and sat as a judge on the judges panel for numerous ranch horse competitions, ranch rodeos, trainers challenges and the Old Californio Skills of the Rancho. Miles' experience and skill in the saddle is second to none and his ability to support others into discovering their own ability in the saddle is something special. Workshops held at the Rock'n Star Ranch provide participants with an inspiring setting, knowledgeable, experienced support, level appropriate challenges, real life, skill building opportunities and act as a catalyst to developing much more reliable, meaningful relationships between horse and rider. Quite often, our partisipants also find themselves forming long lasting new friendships with their fellow students.
